Gynaecology and Obstetrics

The Gynaecology & Obstetrics Department contains 84 beds and performs around 4,000 deliveries per year.
The Department provides high-quality care in the field of women’s health. We offer a wide scope of services that address every phase a woman experiences throughout her lifetime, from pre-reproductive care through to the child-bearing and post-menopausal years.

Scope of Services

General Obstetric Care
The Obstetrics Department provides around-the-clock labour and delivery services performed by in-house obstetricians and neonatologists. Immediate access to superior perinatal and neonatal care services is also available if required.

Following delivery, the hospital has a rooming-in policy for mother and baby during their hospital stay, and also allows new mothers to participate in the baby’s early care and development. Lactation consultants are available for any breast-feeding problems or advice.

Our Feto-Maternal Unit
offers high-quality ultrasound services with antenatal diagnosis of various abnormalities and the availability of invasive procedures whenever indicated.

Early Pregnancy Clinic
All women with early pregnancy problems will have prompt access to a dedicated early pregnancy clinic. This is open 5 days a week offering sensitive pregnancy testing and high-quality ultrasound services provided by experienced personnel.

High Risk Obstetrics Clinic
The High Risk Obstetrics Clinic offers Multiple Pregnancy Services and a Day Care Unit for the management of diabetic patients.

Family Planning, Infertility and Reproductive Endocrinology

General Gynaecology Services:
The General Gynaecology Services offer the medical or surgical treatment of different gynaecological problems. We also offer the proper evaluation and treatment of vaginal infections or sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Diagnostic & Operative Laparoscopy Services
We offer Diagnostic & Operative Laparoscopy Services for Gynaecological Problems. Laparoscopy is a keyhole procedure that allows the surgeon to examine the fallopian tubes, ovaries and womb with a long, thin telescope with a light and camera lens at the tip. It is passed into the abdomen through small cuts. The surgeon will examine the patient's organs by looking directly through the laparoscope, or at pictures sent to a TV screen.

Well-Woman Clinic:
This is our highly specialised service unit for the management of all problems in pre- and post-menopausal periods.

Out-Patient Department

The Obstetrics Out-patient Department welcomes patients for individual consultancies.

The clinic provides services to all patients three days a week (Monday, Wednesday and Thursday) and gynaecological services are available three days a week (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday)

Our Team

The Medical Board: our consultants, specialists, medical officers and residents are highly qualified and experienced. Our nurses and midwives are specially trained to provide warm and tender care to all women and babies attending the department.
