Department of General Surgery

General Surgery provides 24-hour care to the community of Al Ain for elective and emergency surgical conditions. This includes care for both natural diseases and trauma, and our surgeons have advanced skills, especially in abdominal and thyroid diseases. We have a well-developed specialism in keyhole surgery, which is a minimally invasive procedure used to diagnose unexplained abdominal pain and treat a wide variety of surgical conditions.

Scope of Services

Our surgeons provide around-the-clock services to patients with trauma and emergency surgical problems. Our out-patient surgery clinic acts as a referral centre and attends to patients with surgical problems who have been referred from primary healthcare facilities or other hospitals in the area. Compared to other centres of a similar size, the rate of complications, e.g. postoperative infection, in our patients is very low.

Departmental Staff

A team of very experienced and compassionate surgeons ensures that our patients are given the highest standard of surgical care. Special attention is paid to all details in the pre/postoperative periods. This is critical to achieving the best possible improvement in the health of each and every patient undergoing surgery at Al Ain Hospital.
