Our Philosophy of Care:
The Behavioural Sciences Institute of Al Ain Hospital strives towards excellence in care by providing a compassionate and holistic environment and treatment facility. The treatment provided is both evidence-based and encompasses ‘Best Practice” modalities of care.
Our in-patient facility is modern and sympathetically designed to meet the needs of patients with mental health issues. The unit contains 31 beds and has a calm, warm and welcoming atmosphere together with an attractive and modern décor and interior.
Our department provides an active and sympathetic treatment regime to patients with acute mental health problems. Patients and family members can expect supportive and empathetic plans of care implemented in a safe and dedicated manner.
The unit is staffed by highly-skilled, well-trained and caring individuals. These include doctors, nurses, social workers and psychologists with specialist doctors available as required.
The multidisciplinary team ensures that the patient has access to internationally- recognised treatment. This includes access to modern pharmacology and therapeutic support, as well as counselling and medical interventions.
With the emphasis on holistic care, the department extends its services to the local community by providing a dynamic therapeutic community mental health service. The Community Mental Health Team works in conjunction with in-patient services, discharge liaison, families and other parties during the patient’s transition from hospital to home. The team then continues to provide ongoing professional support and care in the home environment to maintain the patient’s optimum health and well-being.
