Nutrition, Menus & Regimes

Clinical Nutrition
The Clinical Nutrition Department focuses solely on patients who need nutritional intervention.
The department comprises three areas – in-patient, out-patient and food service (therapeutic) – and covers all the needs of the hospital units.

Scope of Services

The dietician acts as a consultant within the multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure that patients receive appropriate nutritional care in all specialist clinical areas of the hospital as well as in the out-patient clinics. Services comprise clinical development, implementation, evaluation and education.

The professional knowledge and standards of practice of the dietician are applied in compliance with the physician’s order. Patients will be reassessed and the intervals, scope and intensity of reassessment shall be based on the patients’ diagnoses, care needs, response to any previous care and change in condition and/or diagnosis. The department focuses solely on all therapeutic patients who need nutritional intervention. With the help of the clinical dieticians, proper care is given and an individualised approach is planned in terms of providing a nutritional care plan suited to the patient’s medical treatment. Furthermore, clinical dieticians – food service (therapeutic) – are responsible for developing and serving high-quality, healthy foods to all in-patients requiring nutritional intervention.

Food services at Al Ain Hospital

As a part of our commitment to develop and provide ‘the highest-quality services’ in Al Ain Hospital, we have entered into a cooperation agreement with the Abu Dhabi National Hotel Company and Tawam Hospital food services to provide catering services for our hospital.

In conjunction with the treating doctors, our Nutrition Department pays close attention to each and every patient’s nutritional needs to ensure the optimum health impact of the hospital’s food and provide the best-quality care for our patients.

Our link with the ADNH also ensures that our patients enjoy deluxe, high-end hotel food services.

The dieticians and food services personnel monitor food safety and quality on a continuous basis and use satisfaction surveys to ensure that our patients’ requirements are being met.

Our future agenda includes the launch of our “Menu Programme” which will enable patients to choose from a variety of healthy and delicious meals.
