Mohammed bin Zayed visits Al Ain Hospital

Al Ain, 12 July 2010 (WAM) - General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces today visited Al Ain Hospital and inspected the expansions made there.

Sheikh Mohammed was received by Saif Badr Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) and members of the company management team.

Sheikh Mohammed praised the support given by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to healthcare service and said that Sheikh Khalifa had attached a great importance to improving public services in the country, particularly in the healthcare sector, by adopting international best practices in medical and curative services.

Sheikh Mohammed viewed a model for the under construction Al Ain New Hospital, which is scheduled for completion in 2014. The 688-bed new hospital will replace the existing one.

He toured the hospital's different section and was briefed on the expansions made to increase capacity. The 412-bed hospital has an emergency centre, three family medicine units and over 35 sections for different specialisation, served by more than 200 doctors.

Sheikh Mohammed said he was pleased with the progress made in the expansion and renovation works and urged SEHA officials to work hard on providing the hospital with the latest equipment and facilities.
